I'm making limited use of Spaces. Have created a couple for regular use, but my main workflow is still centred around Staccks/Notebooks. I feel that it would be good if you could use Stacks within Spaces - that would provide a better hierarchy of note organisation in my mond.

Stacks has been mentioned a few times to fingers crossed!

When I “move” a notebook to a space, it remains in the location it originally was and updates as I add/remove notes. If I’ve done it that way, the notebook doesn’t delete when I delete a space. I don’t think I’ll be creating notes or notebooks directly in a space.

If you "move" a notebook to a space then it will stay where it was in the notebook list but also show in the space.

If you delete a space them all the contents of the notebook and any notes will end up in trash so move them out of the space first.

Are you sure? That's not how it works for me. Yes, when I move an existing notebook into a space, it can be seen in both the Notebooks listing and in the space. But when I delete the space, the existing notebook is deleted in both places.

I’m doubting myself now. I’ll have to have a look tomorrow.

Spaces would be a lot more valuable to me if a note and notebook could exist in more than one space. Imagine having a space for each client. In addition to client-specific information, you might want to include in the space information that is common to many clients, such as reference materials. That's not possible right now.

I suppose a work-around would be a dedicated note with links to those reference materials. If you will be needing that note in many spaces (especially if you are creating/deleting spaces frequently (say, as clients come and go) you could create a template of those links.

Yeah its been mentioned a few times but not sure if they've taken this up at all. I'd find it useful.

Rarely will I want to delete the notes and notebooks in a space when no longer needing a space. Moving/removing a bunch of notes and notebooks so that they aren't deleted when deleting a space can be tedious. So I'd love to have the option when deleting a space to retain the notes and notebooks. Have any notebooks that exist only in the space get added to the notebook list and any notes that exist only in the space get moved to whatever notebook is designated for incoming notes, or perhaps to a new notebook named after the deleted Space and containing just those notes that otherwise wouldn't have a home.

That's a good idea. Would save having to move everything out of a space first.

With the introduction of Spaces, are Stacks now a thing of the past? I have tried moving a notebook from a Stack to a Space and whilst it shows in the Space, it's still shown in the Stack. I delete from the Stack and it also deletes it from Space! Now wondering best way to migrate Stacks to Spaces.

Stacks are staying the same as they are now and spaces are really another way ot organise or display notebooks. I'm using both but I have way more stacks than spaces.

SPACES. I like to imagine them as virtual meeting rooms where I bring relevant documents: notebooks directly related to the meeting topic, as well as reference documents and other useful materials. But for this type of use to really work, there should be a way to share an entire Space.

I also don’t really like that deleting a document or notebook from a Space removes it completely.

However, if I understood a previous video correctly (I haven’t tested it yet), the ability to search within a Space is a really interesting improvement. It also allows for the creation of an "Archives" Space, which could greatly enhance search functions.

I like the idea of a virtual meeting room. Sharing of spaces is planned but not sure when.

Remember to move things out of a space before deleting one. I tend to think of them a more long term so hopefully won't have to delete often.

Yes to searching by space and I really like the idea of an archive. You can filter out notes in spaces as well which could be useful.

With 50,000 notes and over 880 notebooks, any feature that allows filtering search results has a huge impact on how I use Evernote. How can one filter search results for one or multiple spaces?

space:"name of space" works as an advanced search and anything more complicated could be saved as a saved search.

What is the difference between a notebook called ‘Happy’ and a space called ‘Happy’?
