How I wish Evernote would support multiple note windows on the iPad. iPadOS is perfectly able to do it, but they have to implement it, of course.

I agree. Better tablet support is something they are working on.

After hearing about your setup in other videos, I've recently taken to doing the same thing at work - Evernote Web with the tasks view open and my journal note for that day pinned, both on my third monitor, leaving monitors 1 and 2 for “normal” work. It definitely helps me keep on track.

I saw a setup once with a giant vertical monitor and one very long thin note pinned to the left of it. I think they were an architect and used this note for reference when working on projects.

There will be a time when my task list gets that long! 😆

One issue I’ve noticed today while using this setup, is that when you add or complete a task on Evernote web, it doesn’t show it until you refresh the screen. A little bugbear but one that would be perfect if resolved.

… and, of course, it’s now proving me wrong by working fine.

Interesting. I've had this conversation with the devs a few times now and for me if I leave the web tasks open for half hour or so then it needs a refresh.

The devs said it may be something to do with me using Vivaldi browser so I checked on Edge and it works as expected.

Then the twist was when I went back to using Vivaldi it also worked as expected.

So I have no idea 😂

Let me know if it happens again.

Since I posted the comment, it’s worked perfectly ok on Edge. If I left it long enough, it would log me out (rude). Otherwise, it works ok.

Embarrassingly, i did not know you could open multiple windows, so this was very valuable. When i open a note into a new window, it opens full screen. How do i open multiple windows and create "window tiles" so i can view several at a time?

I think if you shrink the size of the open window it should open smaller in the future. It kind of remembers the size and sort of tiles.

Jon - if I right click on the note I want to open in a new window, there is no option to do so... And if I click on the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner of the note, there is no choice there either... What am I missing (other than the ability to open a note in a new window!)? Thanks

Are you using Evernote on the web?

I don't think open in a new window is available there as you can open new tabs with Evernote notes and separate them into different windows. I will check when I'm at my PC.

Interesting idea with having an always open note using the web and the app for other notes and uses.

One problem I have regarding windows, is that sometimes when I close down those note windows that seems to pile up in the background in the desktop app, I accidently close the ”main” window with the navigation list.

I haven't found a way to re-open a main window, other than restarting the app. Is it just me not being smart enough or isn't there in fact a way to open the main window once it has been closed…? (On mac if it makes any difference)

Thought I’d ask the 🐘 guru. Thanks /jonaz

On Win and Mac just closing the window should keep it running in the task bar so a click on the icon should bring it back to life pretty quickly.

If you "Quit" the app then its a hard start.

What you can do in settings is select "resume where I left off" as a start up option so whenever you launch EN it will open at the same place and open any notes you have open in their own window.

👍 That did the trick. Never thought of using the app icon in the task bar; since other note windows often are open and showing, and the app obvs running, I thought more of it as a ”window issue” and rummaged among the menus for a command, rather than clicking on the app icon (can't think of any other app I have that behaves that way to be honest). Thanks for solving the mystery Jon!

Question - How do you manage multiple note windows in Evernote?

Answer - I can't, I use Android! Especially since they shut down Evernote Web on Android :( Would love this on Android.

Post something here as a suggestion: https://product.evernote.com

I think opening in new windows would be a good idea especially for tablets.
