I'd really like them to fix the "Import Folders" feature so that once imported the files are deleted. This has said "coming soon" in the client for a long time now... plus, the import feature itself is not exactly the most robust feature.
Yeah. Coming soon forever! Not sure why. I know the app-store versions of Evernote don't have the import folder function because they restrict access to general files and folders on folks systems but the direct download does. Maybe its a technical thing with the framework they use... I'll try and find out.
I think that's a pretty fair and honest appraisal . There has been far too much binary arguments online regarding Evernote.
It's not perfect as you mention but there have been huge improvements. You can see the work that is going on.
I think lots of folks underestimate the colossal scale of the task of getting this massive beast finely tuned again. Just think of the logistical challenges and all the moving parts of aquiring the company, coming up with a strategy , deciding to re- locate getting new members of staff to begin working on it. It's a huge challenge. Bending spoons copno lot of flak online, but it's quite a challenge to restructure and rebuild a failing product (many might argue).
For me, I'd love the app to be less buggy, and more reliable. It's got to be about frictionless capture and easy retrieval of information. That's what evernote was always about for me. Sometimes the app hangs when uploading photos etc. But if they can re write the backend I'm sure they can sort out the app.
I'm doubling down on my use of Evernote also. I'll only begin to worry when bending spoons stops working, and I don't see that happening in the foreseeable .
I think the improvements will continue for some time.
Evernote change in cost has pushed me to Onenote. For 99.00 per year I get the full Office 365 suite of products vs 129.00 for just Evernote. It's a Shane as have been avid Evernote for 10+ years.
Been using Evernote for years, and I am grateful for it. I've noticed the speed increase this past year. I hated the new Everyone app and have remained with Evernote Legacy. It too has improved.
Not a fan of the higher costs, but as an Apple guy, I can't go all-in on the Microsoft universe. Onenote is not an option for me. Have looked at Goodnotes before - and I use Notability for handwritten notes - which could support all the features I use in Evernote as well. 🤔
Yeah. I don't think anyone likes higher prices but a lot is down to how valuable the software is to you and how much you use it. Plus in relation to other things in life I still think its pretty cheap(ish)!

Totally agree. I'm hoping this new team will be able to squash for of the front-facing bugs nice and quickly.
Totally Agree much impoved perfomance on Windows App, Web Browser and Mobile (Android)
