We’re heading towards the end of the year and I’ve been asked a couple of times this week about 2024 Evernote Calendar templates which right now don't appear in the template gallery.
I use the monthly calendar templates quite a bit for planning things out, arranging publishing dates for the two podcasts I host and generally organising things that I don’t want in my main calendar.
I also use them to highlight milestone or deadline dates and pass them on as a PDF to clients. Quite useful.
So, I put ChatGPT to work😬
It’s not brilliant with dates!
Last week’s article talked about how Evernote’s Ai Powered Search sometimes gets confused with dates, and it’s the same OpenAi tech at work.
It took some prompting. The Ai really struggles with what day a month starts on and even when I told it the right day, it got it wrong. A fair bit of editing was needed.
It’s not driving my car if it can’t work out what day April 1st is on!
One thing I did find out was creating HTML templates for “things” using ChatGPT is pretty quick. I copy/pasta the code into a notepad, save it as a .html page and then open it up in my browser.
Another quick copy/pasta gets it into Evernote where I can edit it further.
This process works great with HTML tables.
I’ve created two different versions. One starting on a Monday, another on a Sunday.
Here’s a link to the ENEX files which are attached to a shared Evernote note.
Just download the files, drag them into Evernote or go to File —> Import.
There are also a few other downloads from past articles in the same note.
Disclaimer: I’ve checked the start and end days of all the months, and they seem correct, but I’ve not checked every date! Remember ChatGPT created this so blame the Ai if there’s three 14th’s of September!
New updates this week
Version 10.64.4 came out at the beginning of the week and then the following day 10.64.5 appeared so right now this is the latest version for Mac’s and PCs. Get it directly from the Evernote download page or wait for app-store updates.
I’m a little behind with mobile updates but I believe 10.57.2 is the latest version. iOS folk can grab it from the app-store. Android folk, like me, have to wait for Google to push it out which can take up to a week.
Taming the Trunk Chat is live!
If you subscribe to the newsletter, then you probably got an email last week about the switching on of the Substack chat feature.
You can get to it on the web here and all subscribers have access to Evernote chat from the herd. Its also available on the Substack app.
The plan is to open a new Evernote thread each month so I have somewhere to post content that doesn’t appear in the newsletter. There’s lots happening and I can’t fit everything into a weekly post!
It’s also a great place to ask a question of the herd and comment on any news.
Join in. Don’t join in. Lurk. Whatever you want.

Thanks! I just made the new Calender 2024 template (starting on Monday only) with the same format with the Evernote's previous 2023 calender. Feel free to download here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/2d97a7tvrwux1yhvfncxt/2024-Calender-Starting-Monday.enex?rlkey=5g9mniyiow1tx2hz6sjodr649&dl=0
