Not sure that I'll use daily note in its current format. had a funny with its inshore setup. Found I had both a 'Daily Note' notebook and a 'Daily Note _1' notebook. Can't remember if I deleted one or renamed one or what, But with just a single Daily Note notebook now, I find each day's new Daily Note going into my default notebook (InBox)! So I've turned off Daily Note in the settings preferences dialogue and deleted the current Daily Note notebook. I'll turn the Daily Note setting back on tomorrow which hopefully will create a new Daily Note notebook and I'll see if the daily notes go into that notebook subsequently and not into my default Inbox notebook notebook.
I'd also liked to see the ability to create the daily note at a specific time - in my workflow I aim to review plans for tomorrow at the end of the day when I start to wind down, so it would be logical for me to note the task for tomorrow at that point. I can't redo this by ensuring that the Tass list is up to date ...
@Jon - have submitted ticket + logs "Daily Notes not being created in Daily Notes notebook" - I think the ticket number is 3957065.
The page displaying my submitted requests is blank in the columns headed ID, Created, Last activity. So I'm guessing it's the last portion of the URL that points to the ticket content that is the ticket number...
I had the exact same problem. When I activated the daily notes feature in settings, Evernote created a designated notebook, but kept creating the daily notes in my default notebook. I deleted the Daily Notes notebook as well as the daily notes to start from scratch, de- and re-activated the feature and as a result it isn’t working at all anymore. No daily notes. I tried troubleshooting on both IOS and Windows: re-installed the app, restarted my devices - still nothing.
I love the Daily Notes concept. But I am frustrated that I can't edit/create the Daily Notes Templates myself. It's pretty clunky to do the "a CTRL+A and Delete, open the template gallery and apply your template." especially if I'm doing it on my phone (which I am). So I'm with you, I hope Evernote improves this function by allowing us to select our own templates.
Really hope so. The whole template section is on their radar right now so I'm hoping for improvements. The whole concept of templates in Evernote needs a rethink... I think ;)
As usual, a fantastic overview. I don't see myself using Daily Notes, but that bag is one of the best Evernote products I've ever used. Mine is now in the curio cabinet I keep my Evernote collection, but I used it for a long time. You might have even inspired me to take it out for a ride. 😎
It really is a good quality bag. Surprised me how much kit I can fit in there. My Targus messenger is like twice the size and I've everything in the EN bag. The Targus is waterproof though so may need that in the Winter. Don't forget to take your Evernote socks for a ride as well 🧦
Ironically I was basically doing this for myself already and this creates a parallel system. I'm not sure why I would use this feature unless I can pick the notebook and template I want to use.
"I'm hoping that in the future we'll be able to select one of our own templates as the daily note template so it automatically creates the note exactly how we want."
... just like Obsidian, etc., does...

... just like Obsidian, etc., does... er... so ALL work drives off the DN, and the GTD style weekly review has a modified 'DN' for the review. The 'DN' hold all the musings over the day, but holds note to note links (which I see that EN now has) to those items that are projects or topics that are 'too big' to sit on the scratch pad that is the daily note... It has the top three (or four) must dos... and because I can open tomorrow, today, I can in the 'close down of the day' plan tomorrow, almost with no friction, etc., etc. And if you close Obsidian down 'right' when you open it tomorrow, it has the fresh 'today' as well as the DN for yesterday (or if you wish, the whole week). it is also used in near chronological sequence, so it has a nice record of the day, etc., etc.

That's odd. Let me know if it happens again. I've always had mine arrive in the correct notebook but sometimes two of them!
Daily Nores still not appearing in a Daily Notes notebook for me.
They appear in my default (Inboc) notebook.
Any suggestions?
That's very odd! Can you send in a support ticket with your recent logs and then message me the ticket number. I'll mention it.
Thanks Jon. I'll probably not get a chance until tomorrow. (We're entertaining the grandchildren for a few days, so things are a little chaotic) 😎

I was wondering the same. Is there a way to whittle "Daily Notes" template [just] a little ? Actually pops up 1st thing & BLAM 💥 Overwhelms ADD me.
Not at the moment but custom templates is the number one thing requested for daily notes so I would imagine it will come.

LoL... it is in the bag...
Now wanting the matching Evernote socks!

Yeah. This has been mentioned a lot and I'm hopeful it we'll be able to pick a custom template at some point.

Opening a daily note the day before would be very useful. Easier to plan ahead.
From the feedback I've had so far folks are liking the feature so I'd expect them to build on it.
Custom templates would be the first thing on my list so here's hoping.
... as said, so when it finishes catching up, it will be behind - still. : )))))
Have fun, be safe and enjoy making notes...
