I'm not going to be able to appreciate the image management feature as I only use the note list view, nit Card or Snippet. But this sounds like another example of EN enhancing the customisation. 👍

I would like to be able to choose my thumbnails. But even more I'd like to be able to easily turn thumbnails off and on for ALL notes in card view. Thumbnails take up a LOT of the space, so for many purposes I'd rather have a lot more text than any thumbnails.

That's a good idea. Maybe a toggle in the view settings of the notebook.

Being a visual person, I would LOVE being able to choose which image from a note is used for the thumbnail. I would even be happy if Evernote just always used the *first* image in the note as a thumbnail, at least I would have some control over it as opposed to the dark voodoo magic that selects which image to use.

I really hope it will come soon. I'd find it very useful.

Re AI:

I have been exporting some content in EN and placing it in Google's personal LLM, Notebook.google.com. I wish there were a way to integrate or interface the two. The integration would have to be selective as I wouldn't want all my content in Notebook.

That begs the question of whether our data in EN is being distributed more extensively to other servers for AI processing.

Right now the note data sent to AI is only done when you activate an AI feature and then process something like summarising selected text or audio transcription. AI search works by sending the search query only to the AI which then create an advanced Evernote search query which produces results and the best 4 are sent to the AI to try and answer the question. They are deliberately being cautious on how much data gets sent. Nothing has full live access.

Do you think having an encrypted/AI free notebook(s) or stack help with the privacy side of things whilst letting other stuff hit the AI?
