Email a Copy is one of the features that keeps me with Evernote. I don't like to push signups or advertising on my friends and family. I don't like having features taken away, especially from bad behavior by others.
I agree - The Share By Email was one of my most important features in Evernote. If there are “security” issues, then EVN should address those rather than putting restraints on us who use that feature.
There shouldn't be any advertising in the shared screen. I just see a welcome to Evernote text and an open in Evernote button right at the top. You see anything different?
If I can't share a copy, I have to send a link. When I share a link, no one will go through the hoops to do what Evernote wants. They abandon the effort and ask me to share another way. :-(
What are you seeing? There shouldn't be any hoops.
The process should be, click the blue share button which puts a share link on your clipboard, paste this into an email and send, the other person clicks the link and it opens the note in a browser. No logins, forms, apps or anything. Share is open and account free even with editing permissions. Do you see something different?
I don't know what people who are not logged in see. I've burned all my bridges trying to get friends and family to look at a shared note. *I* go into the EN app in macOS, go to a note's Share option and copy the link. I open a browser where I'm not logged in and paste the note's URL that begins https://share.evernote.com/note/, I'm prompted to log into EN. The URL redirects to https://accounts.evernote.com/login ....
That's very odd. Make sure you're on the latest version which should be 10.120.3 and when you click the big blue share button at the top right it should automatically put the share link on your clipboard. Folks shouldn't need to login to see it.
When I share a EN link, the non-EN users received a “open and Evernote account” screen. Often the were asked to put in a credit card. So many people objected to this that my Notes were going unread and some people asked if I was getting a commission from Evernote.
If you share by entering their email address in the Share pop up then that's private sharing and they'll need an Evernote account to view the note, they can do it on free but will be pestered to upgrade.
If you grab a public share link which you get at the bottom of the share pop up then you can grab an account-free link and set permissions for viewing or editing.
When you have 2 mins go through this article that shows the difference.
I got Spaces today, after my iPad updated overnight. I set up a new Space and see how I can add new Notes or Folders to the Space. However, I don’t readily see a way to add existing Notes or Folders. Am I missing the obvious? I can’t believe they missed such an obvious feature. Any ideas?
Thanks. In the past, the Move Note option only allowed you to move the Note to another existing Notebook. I didn’t realize that they’ve now updated it to move a Note to Spaces or even a new Notebook. I also thought that it would make sense to have a way to add an existing Notebook to a new Space from inside the Space menu.
By the way, on iOS and iPadOS, you don’t have to go to the three dots menu to move a note. Tapping on the Note’s current Notebook at the top opens up a menu at the bottom of the screen that gives you the option to go to the Notebook or move the Note to a different Notebook.
Jon - Spaces looks very interesting. I'm currently experimenting with the PARA method of organising things (Projects, Areas, Resources, Archives) as per Tiago Forte (https://fortelabs.com/blog/how-to-implement-para-in-your-favorite-notetaking-app/). I'm using Notebook Stacks for each if the categories, so e.g. my Projects Stack has a notebook for each of the currently active projects, and each notebook there contains relevant Notes. I'm getting the impression that Spaces will offer a more fluid/flexible option for managing how content is organised, where my PARA categories can become Spaces rather than Stacks and allow better focus on the content.
Some questions come to mind - and you don't have to answer them now, I;m happy to wait for the TTT Deep Dive on Spaces:
Can you have Stacks inside Spaces?
How long will notes remain in the What's New section?
Can Spaces be shared?
Do Notes in Spaces have to be within Notebooks, or can they be simply in the Space? You can currently forward an email into a specific notebook by using appropriate syntax in the email subject line - can you email a note into a Space, rather than a Notebook?
Possibly... you can move notebook in and out of spaces so the fluidity is there.
You can't have stacks in spaces, just notebooks and notes.
It's pretty much the same as the recent notes widget on the home screen so shows whatever has been updated first. Looks like it shows 15 with a horizontal scroll.
Thabks for the feedback, Jon. Much appreciated. Will look forward to your fuller overview of the feature.
Just another thought that came to mind - will the Tasks view (where you can see your list of Tasks) be able to show Task by Sopaces in some form? And I guess that also begs the question, when yiou are viewing a particular Space can you see the Taks that are assoxiated with Notes in that Space?
I've played around with UpNote which has some nice features (fast, easy to use, inexpensive and so on). It has a Spaces feature and the nice thing about it is that if you have Work and Personal Spaces for example, they are totally separate so searching in the Work space won't find anything in the Personal space. Do you know if this is the way Evernote Spaces will work also? Thanks

This video shows how it should work:

I don't have an iPad but on Android you go to your notebook, select the 3-dot menu and there should be an option to move to a space.
To move a note, go to the 3-dot menu in the note and select Move and you should see your spaces appear in the list.

Spaces - all of my most recent iOS and MacOS updates of Evernote mention the “Spaces” feature but it does not appear in my sidebar.
Do I have to do something to activate the Spaces feature?
No... as long as you're on 10.120.2 it should be rolling out now so I would give it another day or two.
Also try a log out and back in again and this sometimes forces new features to work a little quicker.

Sharing will be possible in the future I hear.
Notes can be in a space and not a notebook.

If you're in a space and hit the search box then it defaults to search that space the same way it works for a notebook.
When you're outside the space you can also filter by location and choose a space as well.
Spaces looks like it could be pretty useful. Looking forward to learning more about it.
Its great. There were a few tweaks this week and it works well on mobile.
How do Spaces give me anything more, really, than stacks?
Many more pinned notes for easy access which I'm finding useful and you can setup a space with notebooks from different stacks.
Then again, some folk may not have a use for them. I'm using two stacks right now and the one is very useful, the other helpful from time to time.
