I'm sure many people have already expressed their dissatisfaction with the Real-Time Editing (RTE) feature in Evernote. While I appreciate Evernote's efforts to improve the app over the long term, the introduction of RTE has caused significant performance issues and bugs that are driving users away.

I understand that RTE is a popular feature in other collaborative apps, but it's not something that many Evernote users need or want. In fact, many people use Evernote specifically because it's a distraction-free app that allows them to focus on their work. The addition of RTE has made the app more cluttered and less efficient.

I urge Evernote to reconsider its decision to make RTE a default feature. Instead, it should be offered as an optional add-on for users who need it. In the meantime, Evernote should focus on fixing the performance issues and bugs that are currently plaguing the app.

RTE bugs should be fixed now. I'm not seeing any issues for a while now. If you are get in touch with support as they want to know.

Also make sure you're on the latest versions, 10.60.4 for desktop and 10.53.2 for mobile. I'm seeing huge performance gains from last month.

I should have edited my comments before posting; I think you missed my point. My beef isn't with RTE per se, it is with introducing features like RTE that provide marginal benefit, that introduce a cascade of bugs and problems. I think this is an operations issue: they don't test enough before releasing new versions of the product.

I'm always on the latest release, unless that release is unusable. For example, V10.59.5 was totally unusable because of erratic behavior during searching and filtering. I'm sure you read the Evernote discussions forum and you're aware of this. I, and others, had to revert to v10.58.8 until the issues were somewhat fixed. I'm running v10.6.4 now and those problems have seemingly returned.

It seems you're an ambassador for Evernote. I share your hopes for the product's future under Bending Spoons. I've been a user since 2011 and I'm vested with over 25,000 notes. But my fear is that if the product team doesn't get its act together, Evernote will lose too many paying customers, and we'll all be forced to switch to a new app. And that would be extremely painful. Maybe in your ambassador role, you can be an advocate for users too.
