I love the Daily Note. I really dislike their choice of templates and the option to not use a template. I would also like to use one of my own EN templates. Any workaround? I have submitted a feature request (or in this case, a feature unrequest!).
As I've noted before, generally Bending Spoons seems to favor notebooks over tags. E.g., you can sort tasks by notebooks but not by tags, and pin notes to the top of a notebook but not to the top of a tag list. So I find it odd that on mobile you apparently can't see what notebook a note is in, but you have the option to see what tags are associated with a note. Or am I missing something?
And boy do I wish I could sort note lists by their notebook! Without that ability I have to append the notebook name to the beginning of each note to get my sorted list. Quite a time waster. Quite strange that I can sort tasks by notebook but not notes!
What I miss most is the integration with Spotlight, an advanced search feature found on all Apple platforms except Apple Watch, and also integration with Applescript. When they removed these features, they simply killed the application for me. I'm still hoping they'll return with this feature.
I've not heard about Spotlight or Apple Script returning. I do think a better API for the new features could possibly replace Apple Script. Problem is the apps for Win and Mac are essentially the same now so all features need to work on both.
A comprehensive API with task support would be a game-changer, but one key feature still missing is the ability to search Evernote via Spotlight, Apple’s unified search tool. Once you’re accustomed to Spotlight’s seamless cross-referencing across apps, nothing else quite matches it. I prefer using specialized apps for different tasks rather than relying on one app for everything—but for this setup to work well, integration through Spotlight and AppleScript is essential. Unfortunately, Apple is the only one offering this level of integration now. Windows 8 used to have it, which I loved, but Windows 10 took a different, less effective direction, in my opinion. Samsung’s platform had this functionality too until they outsourced to Microsoft and Google, dropping those integrations. That’s when I returned to Apple.

New question:

I'm hoping for an up to date API at some point.
